Giving Circle Projects
Current Project – WASH for Northern Uganda Phase 3 (February 2012 – )
Ryan's Well shares a special history with northern Uganda: Ryan's very first well was built here! More recently, Phase 1 and Phase 2 of this particular project were successfully implemented with our partner Rural Development Foundation (RDF) in Lira. The third phase of this project will provide access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene for over 4,000 people.
Members of the Giving Circle will be contributing to the success of this important WASH Phase 3 project through their generous financial support of approximately 15% of the overall fundraising goal.
Completed! Ghana – Community Water & Sanitation for Amansie West Phase 3 (October 2011 – February 2012)
In October 2011, the very first Giving Circle project began at Huntaado School in the Amansie West region of Ghana. Our local partner, DONA, built a new rainwater harvesting tank and implmented activities to promote handwashing. Daily life for over 575 students at the school has improved greatly. A safe water supply and the knowledge of good hygiene practices help students and teachers create a healthier school environment, which students can share at home, too.
"The support given to Huntaado School has made significant strides for the beneficiary community. The rain harvest facility provided is a great saving to the school. Prior to this, there was only a bucket which pupils had to travel long distances to fill. This periodically interrupted classes." – David Castel, Executive Director, DONA
