The Ryan’s Well Foundation grew out of the commitment of one boy, Ryan Hreljac, who learned of the great need for clean and safe water in developing countries. At age seven, Ryan's first well was built in 1999 at Angolo Primary School in a Northern Ugandan village.
Mission
The Ryan's Well Foundation is a family of people committed to delivering access to safe water as an essential way to improve the lives of people in the developing world. We empower citizens of all ages to take action and effect change in the world.
Founded in 2001, Ryan’s Well is a registered Canadian water charity (No. 88858 7110 RR0001).
Goals
BUILD: Water, Sanitation and Hygiene projects
Our BUILD program supports water, sanitation and hygiene education projects in partnership with local non- -governmental and community based organizations in developing countries.
EDUCATE: Youth in Action program
Youth in Action is a unique water education program designed to EDUCATE people about the need to conserve water and to understand the importance of safe water and sanitation. This elementary and secondary curriculum is tailored to help inspire students to find where their ‘puzzle’ piece fits in our world and take action.
MOTIVATE: How you can make a difference
The Foundation started with the ambitious dream of one child - for all people to have safe drinking water. We MOTIVATE people, especially youth, to share this vision. There are so many things that you can do to make a difference and become part of the Ryan's Well family. Ryan's Well continues to grow thanks to the many dedicated and enthusiastic people of all ages that make a difference in their own way.
