International Development Week - February 3 - 9, 2013
Held during the first full week in February, International Development Week helps illustrate the work of Canada’s international development community.
It serves to help Canadians (and others) increase awareness of the role we play in international development, learn more about life in developing countries and how to become actively involved in international development.
"I am a retired contractor, Rotarian and mostly an international volunteer. I have travelled to or worked in 66 countries where my focus has been on "grass roots" international development on infrastructure construction. Like most Canadian volunteers, I have been most interested in water, sewage and the environment and how dealing with these issues has created a better living situation for those in need, particularly to raise the standards and rights of women.” - Bruce O’Callaghan, Ryan’s Well Foundation Board Member
