Spotlight on - Keana
At just 15, Keana has been part of the Ryan's Well family for quite some time! Her passion and dedication have been an inspiration to many people already - we're thrilled to share her story!
I have loved helping others since I was a little kid. When I was seven years old, I heard from my home-schooling teacher about this boy just about five years older than me named Ryan, who was raising money for kids in Africa who had no clean water to drink. I thought this was just sooo incredible.
Right away, I started trying to come up with different ideas of how I could help, too. I ended up thinking of making pottery necklaces. I started by just making a few, then it grew and grew and finally everyone in our community was helping out - donating string, a place to fire my necklaces and so much more!
I started slowing it down a bit and then just a few months ago I re-awakened my fundraising and yet again so many people are graciously donating clay, string, a place to fire the necklaces and more people than ever are buying them!
I go into the grocery store and see so many people with my necklaces on and it makes me smile and makes MY heart glow!
Keana's story is much like Ryan's - how one person's project quickly turned into the project of many with a little work and patience and lots of passion! And, like Ryan - Keana's story proves that it doesn't matter how old you are, we can all make a difference!
I think if you want to get involved, my advice is if you can think it - you can achieve it - anything is possible! If you put your heart into it, everyone will want to help or donate! No matter how young or old!
You can make a difference, too!
Donate, Fundraise or Raise Awareness.
Then, be sure to share your actions with everyone you know!
