Ryan’s story is compelling not just for action against the global water crisis but to show that young people can make a significant difference in our world. In the Classroom provides you with important information on:
- Youth In Action – This curriculum educates students about the importance of clean water and encourages them to become active and responsible citizens.
- School Challenge – The school challenge is a unique opportunity for individual students, classrooms and schools to fundraise for a specific water and sanitation project while seeing first-hand the construction and completion of a specific project.
This year, your school, class or group can help raise $30,000 to improve the lives of over 2,500 people in Kenya. Join the 2011 School Challenge!
- School Spotlight – Become inspired by the actions of others! Browse a collection of stories from other schools and students who have helped raise money for Ryan’s Well. You may even see your school listed!
- Skype – No matter where you are, we can make a virtual appearance to your classroom or school to talk about our work.
- Book and Lesson Plans – In September 2006, Ryan and Jimmy officially released their first children's book titled "Ryan and Jimmy and the Well in Africa That Brought Them Together." The book,written by Ryan’s great uncle – Herb Shoveller, is available for purchase and lesson plans based on the book’s content are available for download.
- Ryan’s Well DVD – This moving documentary highlights Ryan’s first trip to Uganda at the age of nine. It has been shown around the world – on TV, in theatres and at film festivals. This is a must-see DVD that will inspire you to go out and make a difference.
